Please see links below that may help you decide if you need to book an appointment

To update you (16th March 2020)-we are offering  telephone consultations  in preference to face to face appointments. We are also developing the ability to do video consultations. Our receptionists will be asking about cough or fever. If you feel you need to be assessed face to face a clinician will speak to you before making the appointment. These measures are for the protection of our patients and staff. We are continuing routine bloods tests for medication monitoring for now but will keep this under review. Thank you for your understanding - our staff are working hard to adapt our service to meet our patient’s needs during the current dynamic situation. We wanted to let all our patients know that as from this morning- the 11th March we will be calling all patients who request a same day appointment. This is to reduce the risk of exposure to Coronavirus to our patients and staff. We are also moving to telephone consultations where at all possible for routine appointments. Messages will be going out to all patients with a booked appointment to offer to convert this to a phone consultation. Please note that due to the way the system is currently configured you will still get a reminder text. We will try to change this moving forward.
Please do not ‘walk in’ requesting an appointment and make sure only well people collect regular medications. Thank you for helping us maintain the best service we can under the current circumstances.

Cervical Screening Update

At this stage of the Covid 19 pandemic we are now able to offer routine cervical screening.

If you receive a letter informing you that your   cervical screening is now due   and you feel happy to attend the surgery then please book your appointment with our Reception team.

If you have had an appointment cancelled in the last month then please call for this to be rearranged.

All the appointments are at Pitstone Surgery during this period of time. The nursing staff will be wearing Proctective equipment during the consultation.

Please do not attend the surgery if you are displaying symptoms of Covid 19 or if you are self isolating due to suspected Covid 19 cases.

If you require a sick note for your employer please click here Sick note information

Following Government guidance and to help protect our patients and the Surgery staff from the COVID –19 (Corona virus) outbreak we have changed the way that we are providing appointments.

This will mean that all appointments will now be triaged by a Clinician. If you call to re-quest an appointment the Reception staff will add your name to the triage list with a short statement about your reason for calling. This is to ensure that the more urgent calls are answered first by one of the Clinicians.

After a phone consultation you may still be asked to come for a face-to-face appointment if this is required.

All face-to-face appointments will be held at our Pitstone branch.

Please only come to the Surgery if you have an appointment (Pitstone only) or to pick up medications, forms / letters, or specimen bottles (both sites).

For Nursing / Health Care Assistant appointments please see the information below

Patients CAN STILL ATTEND if they have a face to face appointment for one of the following reasons and are NOT showing any symptoms associated with COVID-19

Patients SHOULD NOT ATTEND THE     SURGERY for any face to face appointments that have been listed below. You will be asked to have ROUTINE TELEPHONE appointment in-stead.

Hello and welcome to our website.  We’ve packed it full of useful information (Health Advice) in a very easy to use format with the added benefit of several online functions.

The practice is approved for training of general practitioners. Fully qualified doctors spend up to a year with us to complete their training. For more information see the Practice Staff tab at the top of the page

If you’re new to the area, have a look at our New Patients tab, download the registration forms and come and see us.

Serving Edlesborough and surrounding villages extending to the borders of Leighton Buzzard (Billington Park), Dunstable and Tilsworth.  Existing patients can enjoy access to our wide range of services at the touch of a button. As a training practice we strive for the highest quality service possible.

In the last month the surgeries had 86 missed appointments, including 49 Doctors appointments, equating to over 13 hours.

Appointments are limited and every missed appointment has an adverse affect on our ability to see patients as quickly as possible. If you are unable to make your appointment please call to cancel, thankyou.

Our surgeries

The practice began in Dr Jones' home on 1.2.1985. As the patient numbers grew, it progressed to the two purpose built premises, which opened in Pitstone on 1.7.1991 and Edlesborough on 1.4.1992. Today the practice is continuing to grow and develop and currently we have just over 7500 patients.

Medicine

When ordering medicines please be aware: As a practice we are almost 10% overspent on our drug budget- this makes us the worst in Buckinghamshire - this cannot carry on and so we ask for your understanding that we cannot provide prescriptions for medicines available to buy from a pharmacy. This includes seasonal allergies such as hayfever, indigestion remedies, treatments for worms and headlice. Also if you are given a hospital prescription you MUST please take this to the hospital pharmacy.
