2.3.2021- Almost all of our group 6 patients have now been invited for their first dose of coronavirus vaccination. We are seeing lower uptake in this group. Information here might help.

Information about the vaccines

1.3.2021
We have had some communication about second doses- these will be at the same location as first doses. It is not possible to have the second dose at a different centre as the deliveries are matched to the numbers of first doses given. We will only invite patients who had a first dose at the Stoke Mandeville hub for a second dose there. Patients  who attended a mass vaccination hub will have already been given an appointment for their second dose of coronavirus immunisation. We hope to have a week or twos notice but will send invitations by test as soon as we have clinic dates. Patients unable to use a smartphone link will be followed up by telephone.
Currently we have about 100 patients in group 6 to invite.  Those in group 7 can book via 119.

Covid 19 update from the practice

Following government advice we are making some changes to keep patients and staff safe whilst still offering the best service we can.

As from 8am on Thurs 5th November the surgery doors at both sites will be opened for patients that have a pre booked appointment only. On arrival your temperature will be measured and anyone with a fever will be asked to return home and further advice will be given by phone.

All enquiries, test results and booking appointments will only be done on the telephone or via the online services- we prefer the NHS App

The telephone lines are busy but there is now an additional system to let you know how many people are in the queue. We have pooled both receptions at Pitstone and at Edlesborough to try to get your call answered as quickly as possible.  The lines are particularly busy when we first open – if your call isn’t urgent it’s worth avoiding these times.  Using online services- preferably via the NHS App (not the covid one) will reduce pressure on the phone lines and save you time.

Dispensary collection will be from the allocated window at both sites- to the rear at Edlesborough and the front at Pitstone.

Please fill out the slip when you arrive  to collect medications then  ring the bell and wait in your car – Dispensary will call/message  you when your medications are ready and you can then return to the window.

Thank you for your support with these new measures

Appointments are limited and every missed appointment has an adverse affect on our ability to see patients as quickly as possible. If you are unable to make your appointment please call to cancel, thankyou.

Cervical Screening Update

At this stage of the Covid 19 pandemic we are now able to offer routine cervical screening.

If you receive a letter informing you that your   cervical screening is now due   and you feel happy to attend the surgery then please book your appointment with our Reception team.

If you have had an appointment cancelled in the last month then please call for this to be rearranged.

The nursing staff will be wearing Proctective equipment during the consultation.

Please do not attend the surgery if you are displaying symptoms of Covid 19 or if you are self isolating due to suspected Covid 19 cases.

If you require a sick note for your employer please click here Sick note information

Following Government guidance and to help protect our patients and the Surgery staff from the COVID –19 (Corona virus) outbreak we have changed the way that we are providing appointments.

This will mean that all appointments will now be triaged by a Clinician. If you call to re-quest an appointment the Reception staff will add your name to the triage list with a short statement about your reason for calling. This is to ensure that the more urgent calls are answered first by one of the Clinicians.

After a phone consultation you may still be asked to come for a face-to-face appointment if this is required.

Please only come to the Surgery if you have an appointment  or to pick up medications, forms / letters, or specimen bottles .

Our surgeries

The practice began in Dr Jones' home on 1.2.1985. As the patient numbers grew, it progressed to the two purpose built premises, which opened in Pitstone on 1.7.1991 and Edlesborough on 1.4.1992. Today the practice is continuing to grow and develop and currently we have just over 7500 patients.

Medicine

When ordering medicines please be aware: As a practice we are almost 10% overspent on our drug budget- this makes us the worst in Buckinghamshire - this cannot carry on and so we ask for your understanding that we cannot provide prescriptions for medicines available to buy from a pharmacy. This includes seasonal allergies such as hayfever, indigestion remedies, treatments for worms and headlice. Also if you are given a hospital prescription you MUST please take this to the hospital pharmacy.

TO ORDER PRESCRIPTIONS, PLEASE CLICK ON THE 'BLUE PRESCRIPTIONS TAB' AT THE TOP OF THE PAGE.

PLEASE READ THE INFORMATION REGARDING CHANGES IN THE WAY YOU ORDER YOUR PRESCRIPTIONS
